Polaris American Foundation

The Polaris American Foundation serves the residents and communities where Polaris American does business. We believe in grass roots community development.

To that end, we fund efforts around five distinct areas of interest:

  1. civil and human rights

  2. health

  3. entrepreneurship

  4. education

  5. ex-offender job opportunities

One hundred per cent of the funds we raise and contribute go to support our grantees. Polaris American covers all the expenses of the Polaris American Foundation, Inc.

Polaris American Foundation, Inc. is an IRS Certified 501(c)(3) New Jersey based non-profit organization.

Areas of Support

Civil and Human Rights

Our policy and legal expertise make us uniquely qualified to engage organizations and communities fighting for social justice. With our partners, we support strategies that are designed to improve the lives of people of color, women, LGTP via both legal and non-legal methods. We believe that a robust advocacy around issues such as fair housing, equity in public education and the protection of individual rights is vital to strengthening our democracy.

Among the many issues facing the residents we serve one appears to be paramount: access to quality health care. To that end, we fund efforts focused on improving the health outcomes of our residents and the communities in which we build and invest. Our approach is to engage partners in supporting health care initiatives which are designed to provide concrete health improvements.

Our forebears followed the North Star to freedom. Some of them formed small businesses that employed our family members and folks that lived in East Orange, Montclair, West Orange and Newark New Jersey. These were not big businesses by any means but they did put bread on the table and provide our family members with valuable work experience.

In today’s society, one path way to economic freedom is the ownership and development of a successful small business. We believe that entrepreneurship, while not an economic panacea, provides our community residents with the opportunity to express their passion and create economic opportunity.  We fund local organizations and invest directly in local businesses. Working with partners, we provide technical assistance and access to start-up capital for entrepreneurs.
